We've got ourselves something here

I am stepping out of the ordinary and into the unusual.
I've just found a great giveaway posted by none better than Le Grand Cru
Although one gets rather excited over some LGC style this giveaway comes from the
brilliance of Coccoa | Green.

Check out the giveaway HERE and get in line with the competition. :)

Blessings...this is a time set apart. Enjoy it.

Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?

I am not sure how to find the right words for my feelings yet..
I am remembering all the joys of our days
and those opportunities I never took
How great you looked without you timeless hair
But without it the cold winds chilled your bones evermore
Your energy moved throughout the room
dancing with the rhythm of your footsteps
The troubles of your past are lightened with the strength of your freedom
It seems I have never been closer to you than now
but why then did you have to go away.

I find myself with John Donne.
His sonnets are not all about death
though there is a comfort in my heart hearing his words.
In Death be Not Proud death thinks in its pride that it has won.
Donne taunts death and in this way it looses its power in our imagination.

Donne confronts death and belittles it, in order to take away its sting.
I'd like to do that right about now.

Holy Sonnet X

Death, be not proud, though some have called thee Mighty and dreadful, for thou are not so;
For those whom thou think'st thou dost overthrow
Die not, poor Death, nor yet canst thou kill me.
From rest and sleep, which but thy pictures be,
Much pleasure; then from thee much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee do go,
Rest of their bones, and soul's delivery.
Thou'art slave to fate, chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poison, war, and sickness dwell,
And poppy'or charms can make us sleep as well
And better than thy stroke; why swell'st thou then?
One short sleep past, we wake eternally,
And death shall be no more; Death, thou shalt die.

"okay okay okay"

I have stepped into a new year and with that have started a new semester at Northwest University, or as my childhood lit. professor would like to call it, Academy. (i think i like that better too)
Along with it there have been some great additions in my life:

z. Some great clothes handed down by someone with great style. (goodwill, red light, buffalo)
y. Music by Karli Fairbanks, new music by Angus and Julia Stone, renewed love for Bon Iver and thirst for some even newer (to me) music that I know is out there waiting for my ears.
x. Some good time with the Lord, understanding what I am living. Trying to live what is pleasing to the Lord and in all the best attitudes. Discovering. Discovering. Discovering.
w. An anxious hand for art. I'm exploring with some free art classes and such..hopefully more than one..
v. Diligently learning ballet so that I can outwardly express what I see so clearly in my mind. :) hehe.
u. Learning simplicity, being less dramatic, not so selfish, controlling my emotions; not letting them control me, finding our Father's peace amidst the storms (that tend to come so frequently in my life and at record speeds), having more confidence, thinking before I speak and saying things that matter, remembering what I read, letting loose my inner child (where are you?), giving love love love.

It is exhausting to think of everything you are working on, but so rewarding to have a list and see what
God is doing
 what is being molded
and shaped
torn away
or
refined to look like something
completely new.
